About Rooted Web
Hello, I'm Charlotte.
I'm a web designer and photographer based in Llandrindod Wells, Mid Wales. Rooted Web is my independent studio, where I build thoughtful websites and take honest photographs for good people and good businesses.
Two crafts, one studio
I started out in IT support and web design, fixing problems and building sites for businesses that needed them to just work. Alongside that, I've spent years behind the camera as a documentary wedding and commercial photographer, working with couples and businesses across Powys, Herefordshire and Shropshire.
Rooted Web brings those two things together. A website is only as good as what's on it, and so many small businesses end up with a nicely built site full of stock photos, or great photos stuck on a site that's slow and hard to use. I do both, so your words, pictures and website are planned together from the start.
Why "Rooted"?
Because the best businesses I know are rooted in their place: real people, real places and honest work. The swash r in my logo reaches up like a shoot breaking ground, and the full stop is the seed it grew from. It's a reminder that small things done well become good things. Great ideas grow here.
How I work
What you can expect
Bespoke, not bloated
I build what your business needs and nothing it doesn't. Lighter sites load faster, cost less to run and are easier for you to look after.
Local, not limited
I'm proud to be in Mid Wales and to work with businesses on my doorstep, but the standards are the same as any city studio, and I work with clients across the UK.
Beautiful, but useful
Good design matters, but it has to earn its keep. Every page is planned around what your customers need to know and what you want them to do next.
Plain English, always
No jargon and no surprises. You'll get an itemised quote, clear answers, and the logins to everything you own.
Working together
One person, from first chat to launch
When you work with Rooted Web, you work with me. There's no account manager in the middle and no passing you between departments.
- We'll start with a chat about your business and what you need, in person or online.
- I'll plan the words, photos and pages with you, so nothing gets stuck waiting.
- I design, build and photograph it myself, with feedback points along the way.
- After launch, I'm still here for updates, care and advice.
Where I work
Based in Llandrindod Wells, working wherever you are
Most of my clients are in Powys and Herefordshire, and I'm happy to meet in person. Websites can be planned and built online, so I work with businesses across the UK too.
